Zinedine Zidane’s son has hung up his boots before the age of 30.
Zinedine Zidane’s son has hung up his boots aged 29, while boasting a 100 per cent scoring record for his dad’s former side Real Madrid.
Enzo Zidane has reportedly called quits on his playing career after spending the last year as a free agent.
Zidane Jnr. last pulled on a shirt for Spanish side CF Fuenlabrada, making 29 appearances, scoring one goal and registering four assists during the 2022/23 season.
But despite his solid showing, the child of World Cup winner Zidane has failed to agree terms with a new club and is therefore retiring from the sport, as per Spanish outlet AS.
The report claims Enzo got bored of waiting for a suitable club to come forward and is instead deciding to focus on his family.
Enzo spent 10 years in Real Madrid’s youth side, but he’d manage just one senior appearance for Los Blancos.
That came during a Copa del Rey tie against Cultural Leonesa, with Zidane finding the back of the net during the 6-1 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu.
It does, of course, mean Zidane boasts a 100 per cent scoring record for the Spanish giant.

Enzo Zidane scored his only goal for Real Madrid against Cultural Leonesa in 2016.
However, Zidane has opened up in the past about living in the shadow of his father, with the midfielder telling Marca in 2018: “I’ve had it since I was little, and it’s always going to be that way. It’s not going to change, but I try to remove myself from it and focus on being the best possible Enzo.
“People compare you, criticise you, want more from you, and say you are there because you are somebody’s son.
“Others will be criticised for other things, but I try not to think about it.
“The most important thing is that my family are proud of me. I just think about growing up as Enzo and nothing else.”

He continued: “I was 22 years old [at Madrid], after going through the academy and learning from the first team, my goal was to try other things and grow as a footballer,’ he continued.
“Madrid are the best team in the world and it is very difficult to find a space there, but the life of a player is like that.
“I wanted to leave to experience good moments elsewhere and have the same dream.”
Zidane retires from football having made 203 appearances for 11 different clubs, netting 13 goals and notching up 24 assists.
