Xavi has been strongly linked with replacing Erik ten Hag at Manchester United
Xavi has sparked a social media storm among Manchester United fans after his wife posted a picture of him and his son, with the youngster donning a Red Devils kit.
The 44 year old former Barcelona manager is currently without a club following his departure from the Spanish titans at the conclusion of last season. He has recently been touted as a possible successor to Erik ten Hag due to United’s lacklustre start to the current campaign.
It’s rumoured that Xavi has been approached by United regarding the managerial position. Fans are now convinced that the Spaniard has subtly hinted at accepting the role.

In an Instagram story shared by his wife on Sunday, Xavi is seen with his young son completing a sticker book. The child is sporting this season’s Manchester United home kit, further fuelling speculation that Xavi is considering the job.
Manchester United’s top brass convened for a seven-hour crisis meeting during the international break earlier this month. However, the meeting, chaired by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, did not result in a managerial change.
Despite this, Ten Hag hasn’t been able to escape rumours about his future. The chatter will only intensify following the Red Devils’ disappointing 2-1 loss to West Ham on Sunday.
Sky Sports pundit Jamie O’Hara asserted post-match that enough was enough and that Ten Hag should be relieved of his duties, adding that he would have made the decision to part ways back in the summer if he were in charge.
He expressed: “Nine games and in [United] are 14th in the table….come on, this is Man United. You can almost accept if they’re ninth, you know, [being] in the top half and it hasn’t quite happened. They’ve lost four games already this season – they’ve played nine.”
When questioned about his course of action given the results, he went on to say: “I’d get rid of him; I would have gotten rid of him three months ago. I wouldn’t have gave him a contract after the FA Cup, I’d have said, ‘Thanks very much, you’ve finished with a trophy, go out on a high’.
“They should have got something from the game today but overall they’ve been poor. I’ve watched them in the Europa League as well and they’ve been poor.”
