‘Wow’: Micah Richards amazed at 27-year-old who Chelsea reportedly want to sign

Micah Richards has claimed he has been extremely impressed by the progress made by Brentford striker Ivan Toney.
He told the Mail Online that he believes the 27-year-old should be in contention for a place in the PFA Team of the Year.
In Chelsea’s links to signing a striker at the end of this season, Toney’s name has frequently popped up as one who the club are interested in bringing in.

A lack of goals has been an obvious issue at Stamford Bridge this season, and has been a large contributor in the Blues enduring a dire season this year.
The likes of Kai Havertz, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Raheem Sterling have struggled to become regular contributors, making it difficult for whoever has been in charge to trust any of them on a regular basis.
Richards praises Toney
The Brentford man meanwhile sits as the third top scorer in the entire league, only behind the formidable Erling Haaland and Harry Kane.
Richards has sung his praises, explaining how impressed he has been with how far he has come in the time since he has been in the Premier League.

He said: “One thing I’ve always loved seeing is how a player improves from one season to the next. Ivan Toney’s progress, then, has given me a huge thrill. Twenty League goals for Brentford?
“Wow. I don’t know why but nobody is talking about him as much as they should. Toney was superb at Liverpool, his touch and awareness outstanding. I’d love to see him in the PFA team of the year.”
Toney is not the only name linked to a move to West London. The club have been strongly linked with the transfer of Victor Osimhen from Napoli, who was recently crowned champion of Italy as part of the Napoli squad.
