MONMOUTH — The Western Oregon football team fell to Central Washington 17-7 on a drizzly Saturday afternoon at McArthur Field.

The Wolves (1-3 overall, 0-2 LSC) finally got some momentum offensively in the third quarter after falling behind CWU (2-2, 2-0) 10-0. It started with a Jordayn McCarty 48-yard pass to Dominique Loggins to move the ball to the Wildcats’ 47. Jermaine Land followed with a 13-yard and 2-yard rush before Gannon Winker hit Keyvaun Eady for a 32-yard touchdown pass to cut the Wildcats’ lead to 10-7.

But CWU answered with a touchdown on its following drive to take a 17-7 lead it wouldn’t let go.

WOU held the Wildcats to 271 yards of offense (including 99 on the ground), the the offense finished with 206 yards rushing and three turnovers.

Isaiah Abraham paced the Wolves with nine tackles – including a sack and a pass breakup. Elijah King finished with nine tackles and a breakup, Malcolm Liufau had seven tackles and forced fumble and a fumble recovrey and Noa Aluesi had seven tackles and a sack. Offensively, Winker finished 10-for-24 passing for 126 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions. The Wolves were held to jsut 32 yards rushing with Austin Backher leading the way with 24 yards. Eady finished with three catches for 58 yards and a score while Brenden Hodge had a team-high four catches for 32 yards.
