Premier League clubs have a little over a week to complete their summer transfer business. Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are among the teams who could all be busy in the final eight days of the window.
United remain keen on a defensive midfielder despite adding four new players to Erik ten Hag’s squad. Progress appears to have finally been made with top target Manuel Ugarte, who could be lured from Paris Saint-Germain.
That deal could have a knock-on effect for Jadon Sancho, who has been linked with PSG and Chelsea. Meanwhile, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are all reported to be interested in completing deals over the next week.

United are searching for a new defensive midfielder and have Manuel Ugarte as their top priority.
However, an offer is claimed to have been made for Ederson, too.

Man City are closing in on re-signing former captain Ilkay Gundogan.
The midfielder joined Barcelona on a free transfer after lifting the treble with City in 2022-23.
Gundogan is now set for a quick return to City after he was made available by the La Liga side.

Jadon Sancho to Chelsea
Man Utd are expecting Chelsea to make an offer for Jadon Sancho this week, according to The Athletic.
The Red Devils value the winger at £40m and believe their Premier League rivals will make a proposal before the transfer window slams shut.
Sancho has been reintegrated into Ten Hag’s squad this season following his exile and subsequent loan to Borussia Dortmund. But the 24-year-old remains a player who could depart Old Trafford.
Arsenal make £42m bid
Arsenal are reportedly preparing to launch a shock move for Ademola Lookman.
The former Everton and Fulham winger has shone since joining Atalanta two years ago, elevating his game to a new level.
He struck a stunning hat-trick in the Europa League final against Bayer Leverkusen last season.
According to Italian transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla, Arsenal are mulling over making a £42m approach for the 26-year-old to strengthen their attacking options.
Man Utd’s Ugarte agreement
Man Utd have reportedly agreed personal terms with top target Manuel Ugarte.
Journalist Ben Jacobs claims that a deal has already been struck with the defensive midfielder.
United now only need to find an agreement with PSG. A loan with an obligation to buy is reportedly the likeliest course of action as the Red Devils close in on their fifth transfer.
