Express Sport brings you all the latest
The 2024/25 Premier League campaign is underway, with Manchester United getting the ball rolling with a 1-0 victory over Fulham. New signing Joshua Zirkzee scored the all-important winner at Old Trafford, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s spending spree already showing signs that it will bear fruit.
The Red Devils remain in the market for further reinforcements, with a new midfielder being eyed and several cut-price options being assessed at left-back. Acquiring the services of another striker cannot be ruled out either.
Arsenal and Liverpool are also keen to bolster their midfield ranks, with the latter yet to make a signing this summer. Arne Slot has played down the importance of rejigging his ranks, but the Reds have shortlisted targets at both ends of the pitch ahead of the final few weeks of the window.
Express Sport provides LIVE transfer updates and gossip below..
Jose Mourinho eyes Tottenham reunion
Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen to reunite with Tottenham outcast Giovani Lo Celso at Fenerbahce.
According to Sporx, the Turkish giants have been offered the chance to sign the Argentina international through intermediaries, and Mourinho has approved of the midfielder.
Spurs are keen to offload Lo Celso in the final weeks of the transfer window as he has slipped down the pecking order at the club since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou.
Man Utd targets’ agents ‘confident’ about deal
Manuel Ugarte’s agents are confident that their client will join Manchester United this summer, reports HITC.
The Red Devils are locked in talks with Paris Saint-Germain over the Uruguay international as they look to negotiate a cut-price deal for the midfielder.
Ugarte was left out of the PSG squad for their opening game of the Ligue 1 season this weekend, and confidence is growing in the ex-Sporting star’s camp that a deal is only a matter of time.

Man City and Tottenham dealt Eze blow
The release clause in the contract of Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze has reportedly expired.
Manchester City and Tottenham have been heavily linked with the England international in recent weeks, but they will now have to negotiate a deal with Palace if they are to acquire the services of the forward.
The Daily Mail report that Eze’s release clause expired on Friday night. The clause was worth £60million, plus a further £8m in add-ons.
Ben Chilwell told to leave Chelsea
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has publicly revealed that Ben Chilwell should look for a new club in the remainder of the transfer window.
Speaking on Friday, the ex-Leicester City boss said: “With Chilly it’s quite clear, I love the way he trains, I love the way he is but the problem is that he struggles with us a little bit to find his best position.
“When you train every day and you don’t get minutes, it’s not good for them and it’s not good for me because I need to make decisions. For some players, it’s sometimes better to leave and to go somewhere to get minutes. We will see what happens, the transfer window is open and we will see what happens.”
Manchester United are among those to have registered an interest in the left-back earlier this summer.
Chelsea ‘closing in’ on swap deal
Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are ‘getting closer’ to striking a swap deal, reports Fabrizio Romano.
Atletico are desperate to secure the signature of Conor Gallagher, whilst the Blues are interested in acquiring the services of Joao Felix after their move for Samu Omorodion collapsed.
A ‘positive round of talks’ were held between the two clubs on Friday and Felix has now agreed on contract terms with Chelsea.
There is hope that the deal can be finalised this weekend.
Liverpool plot fresh £51million swoop
Liverpool have reportedly reignited their interest in winger Takefusa Kubo.
The Reds were linked with the Japan international earlier this summer, and Tutto Juve claim that Arne Slot’s side are back in the frame for the versatile forward.
Striking a deal for Kubo will see Liverpool open talks, once again, with Real Sociedad following their unsuccessful pursuit of Martin Zubimendi, which saw the midfielder talked out of a move to Anfield by his boyhood side.
Thankfully for Liverpool, just like the Spain international, Kubo also has a £51million release clause in his contract which can be activated to accelerate their pursuit.
