With just eight days remaining until the new Premier League season kicks off at Old Trafford, several clubs have accelerated their transfer business. Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool are among the sides expected to be active in the final three weeks of the summer window.

United are eyeing a right-back, another centre-back and a central midfielder but look unable to add to their two arrivals without player sales.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are in talks with the Red Devils over one star while also closing in on one of Mikel Arteta’s primary transfer targets.

And Liverpool – the only Premier League outfit yet to make a signing this summer – look set to enter the picture imminently.

DONE DEAL! Newcastle sign William Osula

Newcastle United have announced the signing of Sheffield United striker William Osula.

The 21-year-old Dane featured 21 times in the Premier League last season and has represented his country at U21 level.

Osula lands at St. James’ Park for a reported £15m fee.

He said: “I’m very happy to be here. It’s a big club, a great club, so I’m very happy for the opportunity to join Newcastle United.

“It’s a great opportunity, and as soon as I heard about Newcastle’s interest, I knew I had to take the chance to join this club if it came.

“It has come, and I’m really happy to be here.”

Eddie Howe added: “William is a talented young forward with all the attributes to be an exciting player for Newcastle United.

“We have watched his development closely and we are delighted to have the opportunity to work with him in this next step in his career.

“I know our supporters will join me in giving William a very warm welcome to the club and the city.”

Crystal Palace eye Wilfried Zaha return

Wilfried Zaha could make a shock return to Crystal Palace this summer.

According to the Telegraph, Zaha is set to leave Galatasaray on loan, one year after signing as a free agent.

The Premier League is said to be a likely destination for the 31-year-old forward, with Galatasaray seeking a £9m loan fee.

Martin Zubimendi to accept Liverpool move

Real Sociedad expect Martin Zubimendi to accept a move to Liverpool should the two clubs agree a transfer fee.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool would have to pay the 25-year-old midfield’s £51.7m release clause in full to lure him away from La Real.

Arne Slot has identified a No. 6 as his priority in his first transfer window at Anfield.

The report adds that the Basque club will allow Zubimendi to leave if he submits a transfer request.

Man Utd and Arsenal in compensation talks

Manchester United are reportedly in negotiations with Arsenal regarding a compensation fee for 16-year-old striker Chido Obi Martin.

Obi Martin has already completed his United medical and agreed personal terms after letting his Arsenal contract expire earlier this summer.

But The Athletic report that the Red Devils must still offer payment for the wonderkid before the deal goes through the Premier League’s ratification process.
