There will be much talk about Man Utd and Mohamed Salah throughout January
The January transfer window is officially open and Premier League clubs are free to do mid-season business to strengthen their squads.
Manchester United are one of the clubs hoping to be busy but face Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) concerns which could complicate matters for Ruben Amorim somewhat.
Another popular topic throughout the winter window will be the future of the Premier League’s top goalscorer – Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian is out of contract in the summer and is now allowed to talk to overseas clubs over a pre-contract agreement to join a non-domestic club in July.
Express Sport brings you all the transfer gossip and news below…
Mohamed Salah receives huge contract offer
PSG are ‘very keen’ to sign Mohamed Salah and are willing to offer the Liverpool talisman £414,000 (€500,000) a week to bring him to France.
That’s the claim of French football journalist Romain Collet Gaudin.
He reports that Liverpool are offering lower wages of £331,000 per week (€400k) on a two-year deal.
But PSG are supposedly willing to tie Salah down for three years, offering him a longer-term financial guarantee.
It is unclear what will happen but the player, 33 this June, has publicly declared previously he loves Liverpool and would be happy to retire on Merseyside.

Barcelona’s Dani Olmo issue
Dani Olmo has been in fine form for Barcelona this season with six goals in 15 games – but he may have played his final game for the club.
Barca have lost an appeal to register him for the rest of the season.
The Spaniard was only registered until January because the club could not meet La Liga’s wage cap restrictions.
The £51million summer signing has a clause in his contract allowing him to leave the Nou Camp for free if he is not registered, with Man United among those keeping an eye.
And worse now for Barca, Mundo Deportivo report Olmo cannot just be loaned out.
The player must first be registered with a team before he can be loaned and is not be available for the Champions League either.
Ruben Amorim demands £80m Man Utd transfer
Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is demanding Viktor Gyokeres is brought to Old Trafford from his old club Sporting.
That’s according to the Daily Star, with Amorim having apparently told United bosses he wants the Swede as soon as possible.
Gyokeres has scored 26 goals in 24 games this season and has a release clause in his contract worth around £80million.
Sporting president Frederico Varandas will do no negotiating if United make a January swoop – instead insisting the Red Devils pay that clause in full.
