Friday evening’s transfer deadline is rapidly approaching and many of the Premier League’s top clubs are still keeping a close eye on the market. Manchester United are expected to haul a deal for Manuel Ugarte over the line before switching focus to outgoings, with Jadon Sancho and Scott McTominay both set to leave Old Trafford.

Arsenal are also in the process of shedding weight from their squad, and senior figures at the Emirates Stadium could sanction several more departures before the window slams shut.

Liverpool fans will be delighted to see their summer finally spring into life at the 11th hour. Manchester City are scouring the market for a new back-up to Erling Haaland. Tottenham are set to dispense with one or two fringe players over the coming days. And with Chelsea, anything could happen.

Chelsea confirm 11th signing

Chelsea have unveiled Mike Prenders as their 11th signing of the summer.

The 19-year-old is viewed as one of the best young goalkeepers in world football.

Chelsea are understood to have paid Genk £17million before sending Prenders back to his former club on loan for the season ahead.

The youngster joins a huge list of senior stoppers already at Stamford Bridge including Robert Sanchez, Djordje Petrovic, Filip Jorgensen, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Marcus Bettinelli and Gabriel Slonina.

Tottenham starlet’s future hangs in balance

Tottenham are being ultra-selective about where they send highly-rated teenager Tyrese Hall on loan this season.

Express Sport understands that Spurs want to send the 18-year-old to League One or the Championship with guarantees over his game time.

An unnamed second-tier side have shown serious interest in the midfielder but concerns remain over whether Hall will be given enough minutes to impress.

Tottenham could keep hold of the Londoner if they are not satisfied with any of the offers that come their way before the deadline.

Hall signed a five-year contract earlier this summer.

McTominay on brink of Napoli switch

Scott McTominay is advancing towards a personal terms agreement with Napoli which would effectively rubber-stamp his move from Manchester United, according to The Athletic.

United and Napoli have already agreed on a £25million fee for the midfielder.

The deal hinges on McTominay giving his approval, and United’s imminent move for Manuel Ugarte has seemingly shown the Scot that his best hopes of regular game time lie elsewhere.

McTominay is ‘expected’ to land in Italy today to finalise the switch.

Man Utd agree Manuel Ugarte deal

Manchester United have finally agreed a deal with Paris Saint-Germain for the signing of Manuel Ugarte, according to various reports.

United managed to negotiate the Uruguayan’s price tag down from £51million to £42.3m fixed, with the difference made up in potential add-ons.

Ugarte is on his way to England for a medical, with Scott McTominay expected to make room in the United squad by joining Napoli.

Broja to Ipswich latest

Armando Broja’s move to Ipswich Town has hit a snag due to an injury he picked up in training, Express Sport has learned.

Scans are set to reveal the extent of the Chelsea striker’s issue later today, with interested clubs watching on intently.

There is still a chance Broja’s move to Portman Road can be revived if his injury is revealed to be minor.

The Tractor Boys agreed a deal with Chelsea that would have seen Broja arrive on a season-long loan, which would have been made permanent for £30million if they avoided relegation.

Everton, Stuttgart and AC Milan have also shown interest in Broja at various points this summer.

United’s stance on Sterling swoop

Manchester United are ‘wary’ about approaching Chelsea to sign Raheem Sterling, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The Red Devils are focused on deals with will improve their profit and sustainability standing.

But Sterling’s huge wages could put a strain on their wage bill unless a significant compromise is reached.

The winger would reportedly be open to joining United after being frozen out at Chelsea.

And a space could open up for him if Jadon Sancho heads to Stamford Bridge or Juventus.

It remains to be seen whether United would be prepared to take a gamble on the former Liverpool and Manchester City wide man.

£43m Liverpool swoop

Liverpool signings and London buses have found some common ground.

Fans have waited virtually the entire window for a new recruit, and they are seemingly about to get two at once.

Giorgi Mamardashvili is the subject of a £30million agreement between Liverpool and Valencia, with the goalkeeper set to return to La Liga on loan once the deal has been finalised.

And he could be swiftly followed by Federico Chiesa.

The Italian winger has less than a year to run on his contract and Juventus are willing to let him go on the cheap.

Chiesa would reportedly be open to the move after Liverpool asked about his availability.

Arne Slot could get his hands on the 26-year-old for just under £13m.

Arsenal medical today

Arsenal outcast Fabio Vieira is travelling to Porto for a medical today, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Vieira is re-joining his former club on a season-long loan after struggling for regular game time under Mikel Arteta.

All documents are said to have been signed ahead of the attacking midfielder’s camp completing the formalities of his temporary switch.

Porto will not have an option to buy Vieira at the end of the season under the terms of the agreement.

Man Utd make Sancho decision

Manchester United have decided to prioritise a permanent sale for Jadon Sancho this week, with a loan including an obligation to buy their second-choice course of action, according to BBC Sport.

United chiefs are also determined not to be ripped off if they part ways with the winger who cost them £73million in 2021.

Juventus and Chelsea are reportedly interested in Sancho but it could go down to the wire as United hold out for the best possible deal.
