The summer transfer window has very quickly come alive over the past week, with a host of Premier League clubs keen to get their business done early. Several English top-flight teams are conducting business with one another, with Chelsea especially involved under new boss Enzo Maresca.

The Blues appear likely to trade at least one player each with Aston Villa, with Champions League finalist Ian Maatsen on his way to Villa Park for a rumoured £35million fee, with Villa starlet Omari Kellyman in advanced talks to go in the opposite direction for £20m.

Chelsea have also opened talks for Lille striker Jonathan David, having missed out on Michael Olise to Bayern Munich. With just a year left on the Canadian’s contract, he could be available for a cut-price figure, as Todd Boehly looks to bolster their forward options.

Manchester United are keen to improve Erik ten Hag’s defence, but have found the valuations on Premier League stars such as Jarrad Branthwaite, Marc Guehi and Max Kilman to be unrealistic. Nice’s Jean-Claire Todibo appeared to be heading to Old Trafford, but they were banned from signing players as Sir Jim Ratcliffe also owns the Ligue 1 club.

Tottenham’s Ange Postecoglou took a break from recruitment to appear on ITV’s coverage of Euro 2024 on Saturday night, but Spurs are keen to improve both their defence and options out wide. Spain’s Nico Williams and Leeds’ Archie Gray are thought to be two top targets.

Liverpool have been quiet on the transfer front as Arne Slot takes over from Jurgen Klopp. Jamal Musiala is thought to be a player well admired at Anfield, who rejected a new Bayern Munich contract in March, but it would take a substantial fee to prise him away from the Allianz Arena.

Manchester United to submit new Jarrad Branthwaite bid

Manchester United are set to return to Everton with an improved offer for their number one summer target Jarrad Branthwaite.

A derisory £45million bid was previously turned down, way short of Everton’s £75m valuation, but the Daily Mail claim that a fresh offer is being prepared.

United are unlikely to meet Everton’s asking price but after being quoted high fees for fellow targets Marc Guehi and Max Kilman, may feel that the premium on Branthwaite is worth considering.

Chelsea to seal Aston Villa deal today

Chelsea are planning to seal a deal for Aston Villa youngster Omari Kellyman today, for a fee in the region of £19million.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims that personal terms are on the verge of being completed, with the 18-year-old keen on heading to Stamford Bridge.

Once the deal is agreed in principle, his medical will be booked and final details drawn up to announce the signing.

David Beckham’s Inter Miami eyes ex-Manchester United star

David Beckham wants Raphael Varane to be the latest big name to join his MLS club Inter Miami.

The Mirror claim that Varane, who leaves Manchester United upon the expiration of his contract this month, is being targeted by Beckham and the Inter Miami brass.

Varane can join the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba Stateside, with Beckham ready to offer the Frenchman one last payday.

Tottenham make Eze a priority signing

Tottenham reportedly consider Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze a ‘priority’ signing this summer, but there is unlikely to be any movement until he returns from Euro 2024 with England.

Football.London claim that Ange Postecoglou and Spurs ‘love’ Eze and are very keen to bring him to north London, aware he has a release clause of a similar value to Michael Olise.

He shares the same representation as Postecoglou, Son Heung-min, James Maddison, Pedro Porro and Pape Matar Sarr, which could work to Spurs’ advantage.

Xavi Simons puts suitors on alert

Holland Euro 2024 star has put Arsenal and Manchester United on alert after telling Paris Saint-Germain that he wants to leave this summer.

Simons spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig, attracting attention from top Premier League clubs, and he could well be on the move after the Euros.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims that Simons has formally told PSG that he wishes to leave on loan, with Leipzig and Bayern Munich also among those interested.

Chelsea demand £100m for Levi Colwill

Chelsea have issued a hands-off warning to Bayern Munich amid reports that Vincent Kompany’s outfit are interested in Levi Colwill.

The Blues already have Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana, Tosin Adarabioyo, Axel Disasi and Trevoh Chalobah as centre-back options, but it would only take a gigantic fee to let Colwill depart.

The Athletic claim that Chelsea have warned Bayern that they would need to cough up as much as £100million for the versatile defender, after beating them to the signing of Michael Olise.

Chelsea plot double swoop

After confirming the signing of Brazilian teenager Estevao Willian as their second summer done deal, Chelsea have no plans to stop there and want another two transfers over the line.

The Athletic claim that talks have been opened over Lille striker Jonathan David, who could be available for a bargain price as he has just a year left on his current contract.

While The Mirror say that a £14million bid has been submitted to Boca Juniors for defensive starlet Aaron Anselmino, with the Argentinian giants holding out for £20m amid interest from Manchester United.

Manchester United and Arsenal sent £100m ultimatum

Manchester United and Arsenal have been told to pay Joao Neves’ £100million release contract in full or to forget about signing Portugal’s Euro 2024 starlet.

That’s according to transfer expert Ben Jacobs, who claims that the two Premier League giants and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the Benfica midfielder.

PSG only want to bid in the region of £63m for the 19-year-old, however, while Manchester United and Arsenal have no current plans to trigger his clause and will hope to negotiate a lower fee.
