The transfer window is hotting up and Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd want the same players
Another day in the transfer window dawns, and Arsenal appear to have joined Manchester United in clicking into action and splashing the cash.
Deals are getting done in north London, just as they have done all week at Old Trafford with the arrivals of Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee.
Teenager Yoro debuted on Saturday for United, putting in a solid maiden account against Scottish giants Rangers, as the Red Devils got their pre-season off to winning ways.
But United now appear to be very much balancing the books, with a firesale clear-out upcoming and several first team stars expected to depart – including some only signed 12 months ago.
Chelsea are honing in on an impressive deal for Ollie Watkins, in part funded by the Blues finally being able to move on Romelu Lukaku this summer. The big Belgian has agreed a deal in principle to switch to Napoli.
Liverpool continue making slow progress in the window under Arne Slot and the new football hierarchy, though the FSG ownership are said to be monitoring the market very closely.

Arsenal clinch bargain
Arsenal are finalising a move for Ajax goalkeeper Tommy Setford, with the plan for him to play a part in their tour to the USA, as report the Evening Standard.
The Gunners have agreed a fee with Ajax in the region of £700,000 and the 18-year-old is set to bolster Arsenal’s goalkeeping department.
Full conclusion of the deal is expected today.
Ajax had wanted to keep Setford, but he had one year left on his contract and was unwilling to sign fresh terms.
