Ghana and AFC Bournemouth forward, Antoine Semenyo has undergone a successful surgery on his recent injury and will be out for the rest of the season
The 23 year old sustained the serious injury in his cameo appearance against Chelsea FC last week in the Premier League- a tie they lost 1-3 at home to Frank Lampard’s men.
The lanky forward joined the in the last winter transfer window after a stellar spell with Bristol City and has made 11 appearances since then and netted his debut goal in their 4-1 win over Leeds United.
Bournemouth manager, Gary O’Neil in a pre-match interview confirmed this development that Semenyo’s season is over and they hope he cover before the start of next season.
“Antoine [Semenyo] has had surgery so he will be out until next season.”
“We’re hopeful he gets back and can have a decent little spell with the team before the season starts but it will depend on how quickly he recovers.
“Everything went well and we’re hoping he has a speedy recovery because he can be a big help again for us next season.”
This means Antoine Semenyo will miss Ghana’s last two games in the 2024 AFCON qualifiers which comes off next month.
