Estadio Deportivo have now revealed that Real Beltis have expressed an interest in re-signing Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso.

It was Lo Celso’s impressive showing at Betis during the 2018-19 season that convinced Tottenham to spend €48m (£41m) to sign him (including a loan fee and transfer fee).

It has now emerged that the La Liga side are exploring the possibility of bringing the versatile midfielder back to the Benito Villamarin Stadium.

Estadio Deportivo claim that Betis have already contacted Lo Celso’s representatives on two different occasions this month to communicate their interest.

It is explained that the Spanish side wanted to know his plans for the future to explore whether a move would even be possible rather than making a specific proposal to the player.

The report says that a move for the Tottenham man may not be feasible for Betis this summer since they are currently trying to trim their wage bill.

In addition, it is asserted that the La Liga giants would have to battle both Villarreal and Aston Villa for the Lo Celso, with both clubs keen on landing the 27-year-old.

Among all the players that we loaned out during the 2022-23 season, Lo Celso appears to be the one who is generating the most interest.

It seems quite likely that he is the one who will fetch the healthiest fee among that list, which is why I expect Tottenham to cash in on the Argentine fairly early in the window.
