Report: Chelsea ready to swap four players to try and bring ‘world class’ 24-year-old to Stamford Bridge
Chelsea could try swap up to four players in an attempt to sign West Ham’s Declan Rice, according to reports.
The Sun claims that Chelsea are interested in signing Declan Rice, 24, who is ready to move away from West Ham this summer.
It is explained that the Blues may offer as many as four players in exchange for West Ham’s captain. This comes at a time when they have major concerns about breaking Financial Fair Play rules.
The report adds that the England international is going to cost more than the £106million Chelsea paid for Enzo Fernandez in January.
In addition, Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool are interested buyers this summer.
We’ve heard plenty of speculation lately that suggests Chelsea may want to bring Rice to Stamford Bridge ahead of next season, which we fully support because he’s a fantastic player.
The 24-year-old defensive midfielder has proven his quality for numerous years in the Premier League. He shines on the international stage, too.
TalkSPORT claimed last month that Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly may be prepared to fork out £100million in this summer transfer window to get Rice.
But in our view, Chelsea would be a lot smarter offering some of their own players as part of a swap deal.
Described as “world class” by talkSPORT’s Adrian Durham, Rice ticks so many boxes as a modern-day midfielder.
The West Ham talisman definitely looks ready for a high-profile transfer now in his career, but can Chelsea tempt him to West London without any European football next season?
It would be very interesting to know which individuals Chelsea could put on the table for West Ham. In fairness, we can think of at least 10 players the club needs to sell this summer to trim the oversized squad.
