Arsenal could be moving closer towards securing a deal for Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino after the Spanish club refused to include him in their squad to face Union Berlin in a pre-season friendly on Friday.
But Liverpool’s attempts to sign his team-mate Martin Zubimendi may have hit a roadblock as the midfield ace is set to play in the game.
The two Premier League giants are busy preparing their squads ahead of the start of the new campaign.
According to GIVEMESPORT, Arsenal are in an urgent bid to sign Merino and are preparing to test Sociedad’s resolve with an offer. And the Gunners have a greater sense of urgency to tie a deal up as Zubimendi is said to be edging towards a move to Anfield.
