Trent Alexander-Arnold has been strongly linked with a move to Rea
Real Madrid have decided against making a January move for Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, despite his contract nearing its end, according to the Mirror.
The Reds’ key defender is set to be in a position to negotiate with overseas clubs from January 1 as he enters the last six months of his tenure at Anfield.
Although considered a top target by Real Madrid, they are holding off on a winter bid, with boss Carlo Ancelotti confident in his squad’s depth, stating: “We have Lucas Vazquez, we trust him. Then there’s Eder Militao. I see him as a right-back as well.”
The Spanish giants are keen on snapping up Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer and while they haven’t formally pitched their vision to him, they’ve communicated with his brother and representative, Tyler, to stay updated on any developments amidst Liverpool’s ongoing talks.
Currently, the 26-year-old England star seems inclined to stay with Liverpool, although no deal appears imminent.
Alexander-Arnold has made it clear that his decision will be heavily influenced by the team’s potential for success, putting manager Arne Slot under pressure to secure trophies this campaign.
