Premier League club beer prices emerge with Arsenal top and Man Utd surprise package

Premier League supporters are days away from the new season kicking off, and there will no doubt be plenty of pints sunk during the opening weekend. But some fans will be forced to fork out more than others, with the price of beer varying wildly from stadium to stadium.

The most expensive pint in the Premier League is more than double the price of the cheapest, with Arsenal and West Ham sharing the unfortunate top spot. A beer at the Emirates or the London Stadium will set punters back an eye-watering £6.30.

While four of the top five are situated in England’s capital, Leicester City are the surprise outlier, with their steep offering of £5.80 per pint making the King Power Stadium the third-most-expensive Premier League ground in which to have a beer.

Arsenal aside, last season’s other three Champions League qualifiers will all charge £5 per pint or cheaper, with Aston Villa bang on that mark to put them mid-table in terms of beer prices, Manchester City charging £4.60 and Liverpool £4.40.

Special mentions go to Brentford for offering the cheapest pint of any London-based Premier League club (£4), and Ipswich Town for flogging the second-cheapest overall (£3.50), but this year’s title once again goes to Manchester United.

The price of beer was slashed at Old Trafford in 2021, and fans can get their hands on draft pints for just £3 this campaign. Season ticket holder representative for United’s fan forum, Rick McGagh, and vice chair of the Manchester United Supporters’ Trust, Ian Stirling, joyously shared the news when the changes were first made.

“Ian and I met with the club to discuss the pricing of beer in the stadium,” McGagh wrote on social media. “We are pleased they listened and have reviewed the pricing for the 21/22 season.

“All areas of ground (excluding hospitality) will now benefit from cheaper beer prices (which I’m pretty sure will be the cheapest in Premier League).”
