Prem rival now confident their £35m ace won’t leave for Newcastle

Fulham are confident that Antonee Robinson can be kept out of the clutches of Premier League rivals Newcastle United with a new contract potentially on the way for the £35 million-rated America international.
The left-back spot has been a problem position for as long as as we can remember.
And while Dan Burn has done far better than even the most optimistic Tynesider might have imagined, the 6ft 7ins converted centre-half is not exactly a natural in the role. Matt Targett, meanwhile, has barely started a game since joining on a permanent basis from Aston Villa.
Any hopes Newcastle United had of bringing in Antonee Robinson to give Eddie Howe a new dimension on the left-hand flank, meanwhile, appear to be diminishing.

Newcastle United like Fulham’s Antonee Robinson
The Standard reported a fortnight ago that Fulham – so impressive following their return to the Premier League last season – were ready to consider offers in the region of £35 million with Robinson seemingly reluctant, at the time, to extend a contract which had just 12 months left to run.
Since then, however, there appears to have been a bit of a breakthrough.
Fulham, The Telegraph say, are now confident that Robinson will stick around at Craven Cottage after all. Then again, his arm could still be twisted if the likes of Newcastle or Manchester City – both of whom will be treading the Champions League boards next season – step up their interest in a player who narrowly missed out on joining AC Milan when still at Wigan Athletic.

Fulham, meanwhile, are in talks with Benfica about the signing of centre-half Morato. Fiorentina’s Igor Julio is another name on the Cottagers’ radar; Tosin Adarabioyo expected to hold talks over a move to Tottenham Hotspur imminently. Adarabioyo would potentially replace Davinson Sanchez in North London.
Sanchez’s agent confirmed this week that there is interest from Russian outfit Spartak Moscow.
“So far, Spartak has not sent an official offer for Sanchez,” Fernando Schena tells Sport Express.
“Let’s see how possible the transfer will be when the club contacts us. I can say that Sanchez sees no problem in playing in Russia.
“Therefore, he can easily go to Spartak.”
