Player Newcastle sold for just £2.5m has now completed a dream transfer

Newcastle United sold Joselu in 2019, and his career has gone from strength to strength ever since.
The Spaniard’s meteoric rise since leaving the Magpies for just £2.5million has been incredible, and it has just become even more astonishing.
Joselu has just helped Spain win the 2023 Nations League. He scored the winner in the semi final victory over Italy, then converted his spot kick as they won the trophy via a penalty shootout against Croatia on Sunday night.
After winning his first ever international trophy, Joselu has now secured the transfer of his dreams – and something Toon fans simply will not be able to believe.
Joselu officially returns to Real Madrid
It has been announced that Joselu is going to be a Real Madrid player next season. They have confirmed that the 33-year-old will join them on loan from Espanyol, with the option of making the deal permanent in the summer of 2024.
This comes on the back of Carlo Ancelotti praising the striker, who has just enjoyed the best season of his career. He scored 16 La Liga goals for Espanyol, which is a tally that was only bettered by world class megastars Karim Benzema and Robert Lewandowski.
Now Joselu will be replacing the former at the Santiago Bernaebu, as he returns to the club he first signed for in 2009. He made just one senior appearance during his first spell, but now he is back at the biggest club in the world.
It is staggering, to be honest. This is a bloke who was a flop at St James’ Park. During two seasons on Tyneside, he managed just seven goals in all competitions.
He was sold for half of what he had cost, with no fans shedding any tears when he waved goodbye to St James’ Park.
Now there is a chance he could return next season, with the possibility of Newcastle facing Real Madrid in the Champions League. That would see Joselu return to St James’ Park, playing for the biggest club in the world for the most reputable competition in world football.
What on earth is going on.
