Sofyan Amrabat is on loan at Man Utd from Fiorentina
Sofyan Amrabat has spoken about his future at Manchester United following his role in Erik ten Hag’s squad clinching the FA Cup.
The Moroccan, who joined the Red Devils last summer on loan from Fiorentina, could see his move become permanent if United decide to trigger their £17million option, which comes with an additional £4.2m in potential bonuses.
The clause means INEOS could very easily make him the first signing of their reign after taking control of United’s football operations in February.
Despite a season of ups and downs, Amrabat shone in the midfield battleground against Manchester City on Saturday.
The 27-year-old was instrumental and contributed significantly to United’s triumph over City to end their 35-game unbeaten streak and add silverware to an otherwise lacklustre season.
With the season drawing to a close, United face a decision on whether to invest in Amrabat for the long term.
In the aftermath of Saturday’s victory, Amrabat expressed uncertainty about his future but didn’t rule out extending his stint with United.
“Do I already know what I’m going to do next year? No. We are going to talk,” he revealed to Ziggo Sport, a Dutch broadcaster.
“Staying is certainly an option. Look, I think it has been a very difficult season. For Manchester United it needs to be much better, and also for me personally.”

Reflecting on his time playing as a left-back earlier in the season, he added: “That wasn’t easy. I have always remained calm and trained very hard. Ultimately, that patience has been rewarded.
“A very big compliment to the coach, he prepared us so well. This is exactly the plan we wanted and what he said came true. We just had to keep it compact, keep the spaces very small, work really hard and then hope to do something during transitions.”
“I think we scored two perfect goals and gave away very little. In the end, all in all, it was a perfect plan and we executed it to perfection.”
Amrabat made 30 appearances for United including 21 games in the Premier League, starting all of the final four matches of the season.
