A delighted Phil Foden has his eye on further success with Manchester City after bagging the Professional Footballers’ Association Player of the Year award.

At a glitzy Manchester ceremony, following a stellar season that saw City clinch their fourth title in a row. Foden wasn’t alone in celebration. Bunny Shaw mirrored this success in the women’s section, nabbing both major accolades.

City’s trophy case expanded with Erling Haaland, Kyle Walker, and Rodri securing spots in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year, all chosen by fellow players, though there were no places for Young Player of the Year Cole Palmer or Mohamed Salah.

At the event, an elated Foden said: “To win this award is something very special and it is one that I am very proud of and grateful for.”

In a heartfelt nod to those who supported him, Foden shared: “To be recognised this way by your fellow professionals means everything and I would like to thank everyone who voted for me. I also want to pay special thanks to Pep (Guardiola), the City coaches and all my team-mates as they help me to try and get better every single day.”

He didn’t miss a moment to celebrate his teammates, either: “I’d also like to congratulate Kyle, Rodri and Erling on being voted into the PFA Team of the Year as it’s great to see their amazing quality recognised in such a way. Last season was another very special one for everyone at the Club but now all our focus is concentrated on trying to achieve more success this term.”
