Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is contracted to the club until next summer
Pep Guardiola could decide his Manchester City future ‘imminently’, with his current deal at the Etihad set to expire next summer. The 53-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable tenure in Manchester and has led his team to six Premier League titles, as well as Champions League and Club World Cup glory.
Guardiola took the helm at City in 2016 after leaving Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
He has been credited with revolutionising English football, with a whole host of teams recreating his style of playing out from the back.
Guardiola signed his latest City contract in November 2022 after already getting his hands on four league titles.
His stint hasn’t been entirely plain sailing, however, with City currently involved in a hearing after allegedly breaching 115 of the Premier League’s financial rules. And it remains to be seen whether Guardiola opts to walk away from the club when his contract comes to an end.
According to i, sources active in Premier League and overseas recruitment have asserted that Guardiola’s decision could be imminent. And few expect the former Barcelona manager to let it linger into 2025.

Pep Guardiola addressed his Manchester City future during an appearance on Che tempo Che Fa
The publication have declared that City could use the November international break as the perfect opportunity to make an announcement about Guardiola’s future as it would give them plenty of time to oversee a transition into a new era.
And they were told by one Premier League director of football: “There’s a real jostling for position feeling in certain circles.
“If Pep goes, everything changes for some clubs right at the top. It’s bigger than Sir Alex [Ferguson] going because City are more dominant and feel more invincible than Manchester United did then. But I’m not sure if anyone knows, not even Pep, even if he delivers his decision in a week or two.”

Guardiola was asked about his next moves when he appeared on Italian TV show Che tempo Che Fa. And he explained: “Leaving City? It’s not true, I haven’t decided yet.”
The ex-Spain midfielder was tipped by Roy Keane to replace Lee Carsley in the England dugout, with the Manchester United hero telling ITV viewers on Sunday: “The FA have to go for the best guy, whatever. Go for the best. Pep’s contract is up in the summer.”
But Guardiola distanced himself from those rumours during his interview as he added: “And it is not even true that I will be the next England coach. If I had decided I would say it. I don’t know either, anything can happen.”
