The first day of preseason begins today at Milanello, and head coach Paulo Fonseca will have a reduced squad available to him for the session this evening.
As the official website confirms, the players involved at Euro 2024 and the Copa América with their respective countries are due to return at a later date, therefore here are the players turning up for training on the first day back:
Goalkeepers: Nava, Raveyre, Sportiello, Torriani.
Defenders: Calabria, Florenzi, Gabbia, Jiménez, Kalulu, Simić, Terracciano, Thiaw, Tomori.
Midfielders: Adli, Bennacer, Loftus-Cheek, Pobega, Saelemaekers.
Forwards: Chukwueze, Colombo, Liberali, Maldini, Nasti, Romero, Traorè.
Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah have been granted a period of recovery after they played in the Copa America with the United States, who suffered a shock elimination in the group stage of the competition.
The same goes for Luka Jovic who suffered an early exit with Serbia at the European Championship, while Noah Okafor’s Switzerland and Rafael Leao’s Portugal went out in the quarter-final phase.
Theo Hernandez and Mike Maignan will face Spain in the semi-finals tomorrow night, while Tijjani Reijnders and the Netherlands will battle England in the other semi, hoping to earn a place in the final on Sunday in Berlin.
