Oasis’ reunion tour was confirmed in the week leading up to Manchester City’s win at West Ham, but Noel Gallagher opted not to celebrate in chairman’s suite with Hammers co-owners Karen Brady and David Sullivan.

Gallagher instead watched City romp to a 3-1 victory from a different seat inside the London Stadium as Erling Haaland hit his second consecutive hat-trick to send the Sky Blues into the international break with nine points from a possible nine.

According to The Independent, music legend Gallagher refused the lucrative offer from West Ham’s boardroom bigwigs because he would have had to abide by the business suit dress code.

Ever the individual, Gallagher asked for a ticket that would allow him to dress how he wanted. The 57-year-old certainly picked a good day to make the trip as City rained down 23 shots on West Ham’s goal, with three of Haaland’s finding the net.

Manager Pep Guardiola is going for an unprecedented fifth Premier League title in a row this season. The legendary boss’ contract expires next summer, and he set alarm bells ringing for City fans when, ahead of the new campaign, he admitted that the hunger to win another title was not there.

But that hasn’t shown on the pitch, with the Blues comfortably winning all three of their Premier League matches thus far.

Gallagher and Guardiola have struck up a friendship since the Spaniard came to Manchester in 2016. And the Oasis star, who is set to pocket a reported £50million from next year’s tour, is unsure about where the manager’s future lies.

“I do see him from time to time and sometimes when I talk to him, I think he’s not going anywhere, but sometimes I think that maybe he is,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“He keeps his cards very close to his chest. I just think where is he going to go? He’s too young to retire and he’s too young for international football. He’s done Germany, he’s done Spain and there’s no money in Italy. I just don’t see where he goes after City and my instinct tells me he’s going to stay.”

Guardiola himself has opened the door to extending what will be a nine-year stay at City by the time next summer rolls around. He said in July: “We will see what happens. But I will not rule it out absolutely to extend my contract.”
