The Automobile Club de l’Ouest has announced that a parade headlined by nine Hypercars will take place in downtown Le Mans and serve as the conclusion of the traditional pre-event scrutineering activities.
The nine Hypercars – one from each of the nine manufacturers entered into the 92nd edition of the French endurance classic – will be joined by a sole LMP2 machine and seven LMGT3 cars.
Additionally, the official event safety car, as well as the Bentley 3 Litre Sport that was driven to victory in the 1924 edition of the event by John Duff and Frank Clement, will take part in proceedings.
A similar parade was held last year, but on a smaller scale. This year, the cars will drive a route that is twice as long, completing a 2.1 km (1.3 miles) loop.
The cars will run from the Quai Louis Blanc at the foot of the Roman wall on the river Sarthe, returning via the Tunnel Wilbur Wright, taking in rue Gambetta, Place de la Republique, Boulevard Rene Levasseur and Place des Jacobins.
Notably, the BMW M Hybrid V8 Art Car that was unveiled last week will be part of the parade, as will the Le Mans-debuting No. 11 Isotta Fraschini Tipo 6 LMH, No. 19 Lamborghini SC63 and No. 36 Alpine A424.
Furthermore, Cadillac, Porsche, Toyota, Ferrari and Peugeot will all take part as well.
Spike the Dragon, the No. 14 AO by TF Oreca 07 Gibson that will be driven in the race by PJ Hyett, Louis Deletraz and Alex Quinn, will also take part in the parade.
All but two of the LMGT3 manufacturers on the grid are also present, with Porsche and Ferrari absent.
The remaining seven manufacturers (Aston Martin, BMW, Ford, Lexus, Chevrolet, Lamborghini and McLaren) are represented by The Heart of Racing, Team WRT, Proton Competition, Akkodis ASP Team, TF Sport, Iron Dames and United Autosports.
