Mohamed Salah could leave Liverpool at the end of this season
Mohamed Salah has declared he will cherish the triumphs with Liverpool regardless of his uncertain future at Anfield – and says he’s inspired by his former team-mate Roberto Firmino to do so.
With less than 12 months left on his current deal, speculation is rife about whether he’ll stay at Anfield or move elsewhere at the end of the season.
The Egyptian talisman, who joined from Roma in 2017, has etched himself into Liverpool folklore with a staggering tally of 221 goals, positioning him fifth in the club’s all-time scoring charts.
During his mercurial journey, he’s propelled the Reds to Premier League glory plus Champions League and FA Cup success among other silverware.
In an emotional video with team-mates Alisson and Andy Robertson, Salah insists those memories are unforgettable. He said: “The thing I appreciate the most is the time when I go every morning and I see the guys and share unbelievable moments, especially us three plus Virgil [van Dijk] and Trent [Alexander-Arnold], the senior group.”

Reflecting on the departure of Firmino, he observed: “When Bobby [Firmino] left, for example, you realise everybody will leave one day so I don’t take that for granted.
“When I go [to the training ground], I always try to have a laugh with them and spend good time together. In my head, I always remember the good things we had together.”
Firmino, a long time team-mate of Salah’s, departed Anfield in 2023 after an unforgettable eight-year stint. He transferred to Saudi Arabia club Al-Ahli on a free transfer and has since netted 14 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions.
In recent weeks, Salah has dropped several hints about his future. After scoring in Liverpool’s recent triumph over Brighton, he said he will do his all to enjoy a strong season this year – whatever happens.
On social media, Salah posted: “Top of the table is where this club belongs. Nothing less. All teams win matches but there’s only 1 champion in the end. That’s what we want.
“Thank you for your support last night. No matter what happens, I will never forget what scoring at Anfield feels like.”
Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, also recently commented on the situation but did not confirm the forward’s future plans.
Earlier this week, he declared that Salah is the “best player in the world”. Salah has had an impressive start to the new season, already boasting 10 goals in all competitions.
