Mbappé Says Players ‘Must Do More’ In Fight Against Racism

Kylian Mbappé has urged players to do more in order to combat racism in football. Mbappé called on stars to work with the authorities to tackle the issue, which has seen players be targeted by fans during matches. The PSG star highlighted Real Madrid and Brazil’s Vinicius Junior as one example. “Vinicius has suffered, but he is not the only one, we must not leave the door open to that type of conduct,” said Mbappé. The Real Madrid winger has been the target of racist abuse during several La Liga matches this year. FIFA recently announced that Vinicius will lead its anti-racism committee. The committee aims to give players more say in how racism is tackled in the sport.
