Manchester United transfer target Manuel Ugarte has reportedly been left out by Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique during recent training matches. United have made the Uruguayan a summer priority but a gap in valuation has seen them to explore other options.

Ugarte’s PSG team-mates, Nordi Mukiele and Danilo, were also left out as all three flirt with exits from the French capital ahead of the summer deadline.

United have compiled a list of midfield options and talks were held over a move for Ugarte, but PSG want to recoup the £51million they paid Sporting Lisbon last summer, and the Red Devils are holding out for a cheaper deal.

The move had gone cold due to the distance between the two clubs’ figures, but there are signs in PSG training that Ugarte could be on the move. According to L’Equipe, the 23-year-old has been snubbed from recent practice games by Enrique.

With PSG’s Ligue 1 opener a matter of days away, Ugarte’s omission could prompt United to sit up and take note. The Uruguay international has reportedly told those close to him that he would only be interested in a move to Old Trafford, and Red Devils sporting director Dan Ashworth is said to be impressed by the reports he has received on the player.

United are understood to have made contact with the representatives of Burnley midfielder Sander Berge and AS Monaco star Youssouf Fofana as they scour the market for midfield options. Nottingham Forest man Danilo is reportedly the subject of an enquiry, with the Tricky Trees open to doing business at around £34m.

As United’s window gathers pace, Erik ten Hag is on the verge of welcoming Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich. The pair arrived at Carrington on Monday and are set to sign their respective contracts later today (Tuesday) before completing deals worth a combined £60m.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka has officially sealed a £15m West Ham move to pave the way for fellow right-back Mazraoui to take his place in the squad. “It was a no brainer for me to join West Ham,” Wan-Bissaka told Hammers fans after five years at Old Trafford. “I’m excited and happy to be here.

“It’s an amazing feeling to be back in London, and I’m excited for what’s coming. I was born here, so I know the ins and outs of London, which plays a big part in my life, so to be back playing in this city means a lot to me.”
