Manchester United vs Chelsea LIVE! Rashford on bench – Premier League match stream, team news, lineups today

Manchester United vs Chelsea LIVE!
Champions League football will officially return to Old Trafford next season if Man United can avoid defeat against Chelsea tonight. With Frank Lampard’s Blues victorious in only one of their nine games under the caretaker boss, Red Devils fans may see that as something of a shoo-in.
Erik ten Hag is hoping to have Marcus Rashford fit for tonight’s Premier League clash, which comes as a game in hand for both teams after being postponed for the FA Cup semi-finals earlier this year. Not only can United guarantee a top-four finish with a point but all three will send them into third place ahead of the final weekend.
Chelsea are playing for little more than pride yet can retake 11th place off Crystal Palace with a draw in Manchester. Raheem Sterling is set to be fit despite being left out of the England squad, while Joao Felix is also back. Follow Man Utd vs Chelsea LIVE via Standard Sport’s match blog with Nizaar Kinsella providing expert analysis from the ground.

Manchester United FC – Chelsea FC
A daring line-up from Frank Lampard
19:10 , Marc Mayo
Chelsea start with a bold 4-3-3 set-up tonight that has Noni Madueke and Mykhailo Mudryk either side of Kai Havertz up front.
Lewis Hall will operate at left-back and Carney Chukwuemeka comes into the midfield, two players who could have been playing Uruguay at the Under-20 World Cup right now were they not in the Blues first-team.
Joao Felix is fit for the bench with Raheem Sterling absent after injury kept him out of the England squad.
Man United unchanged
19:08 , Marc Mayo
Marcus Rashford is only fit for the bench as Jadon Sancho remains in an unchanged starting XI for the Red Devils.
Anthony Martial leads the line with Harry Maguire among the substitutes.

Man Utd XI: De Gea; Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Lindelof, Shaw; Casemiro, Eriksen; Antony, Fernandes, Sancho; Martial.

Nizaar Kinsella at Old Trafford: Carney Chukwuemeka starts
18:59 , Marc Mayo
Carney Chukwuemeka makes his first start since January 15. He has played just 250 senior minutes since joining Chelsea with most of his 13 appearances coming from the bench.
This selection does somewhat justify Frank Lampard’s decision to withdraw him from the England Under-20s World Cup squad.

Gareth Southgate confident in Chelsea resurgence
18:42 , Marc Mayo
Chelsea have been tipped to bounce back into the top six by England boss Gareth Southgate.
In discussing Raheem Sterling’s absence from his squad for next month’s Euro 2024 qualifiers, the Three Lions manager laid out his expectations for the Blues.
“I can’t see a scenario where Chelsea aren’t in the top six next year,” Southgate said. “I think they will progress.
“It has been really difficult for all the managers this year but that will calm down over the summer. They have an outstanding squad, so they are going to have a good season and I’m sure [Sterling] will be fundamental to that.
“I would always back him to respond strongly and to have the resilience and tenacity to prove himself. He said himself earlier in the week he has not been happy with how it has been. That would be a temporary thing for sure.”
Erik ten Hag looks for “big step” vs Chelsea
18:36 , Marc Mayo
Erik ten Hag has sent a call out to Manchester United fans to trust the process in tonight’s pre-game programme.
“I think we are still just at the beginning of what we can achieve together,” he wrote with a top-four finish just a point away. “Today we can take a big step towards where we want to be.”
The United boss also praised the style of play evident in his side’s recent win at Bournemouth.
“The signs are certainly promising,” he added. “At Bournemouth we reached a very high standard in our play.
“Our compactness, movement, build-up play and counter-pressing, especially in the early stages of the game, were exactly what we have been working towards.”
No end-of-season awards night for Chelsea
18:32 , Marc Mayo
Chelsea’s annual end-of-season party to hand out awards has been cancelled.
Following a miserable season for the men’s team, the Blues will dish out the honours in a low-key ceremony on the Stamford Bridge pitch this weekend instead.

Chelsea are in such dire form at the moment and Frank Lampard has even questioned the commitment of some of his players.
There is nothing to suggest that they are capable of beating a United team so good at home.
