Manchester United are still looking to add to their squad after completing their third and fourth signings of the window on Tuesday. Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui both arrived from Bayern Munich with the pair signing long-term contracts at Old Trafford.

The defensive duo were identified as top targets by the Red Devils earlier this summer but negotiations took longer than expected. They ended up joining the club in a double deal for a combined transfer fee in the region of £60million.

United are not expected to stop there, though, with INEOS working hard to secure further additions before the window slams shut. Manuel Ugarte continues to be linked with a potential move to United with Erik ten Hag eager to strengthen his ranks in midfield.

Amrabat removed from squad list

United have hinted that Sofyan Amrabat will not return to Old Trafford by removing him from their squad list on the official club website.

It has been speculated that Amrabat could rejoin the Red Devils on a permanent deal following his loan spell last season.

A picture of the midfielder wearing United’s new kit was removed from the club website on Wednesday night.

However, the possibility of a return is yet to be fully ruled out, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Eriksen could leave United this month

United are expecting to receive offers for Christian Eriksen before the end of the summer window, according to Sky Sports.

The Dane is only tied down until next summer, which suggests United could be open to selling him over the coming weeks.

It is said that a number of unnamed clubs are exploring a move for Eriksen but with nothing imminent as things stand.

Kovar teases potential Old Trafford return

Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Matej Kovar has admitted that he would like to return to United one day.

The 24-year-old left Old Trafford to join Leverkusen last summer, failing to make any senior appearances during his time at United.

Reflecting on his spell with the Red Devils, Kovar told Rheinische Post: “I was there for five years, enjoyed the time, met a lot of great people and matured as a goalkeeper and a person.

“I’m grateful for the experiences. Of course, there were ups and downs but they’re part of life.

“Maybe I’ll come back one day, that would be nice.”

Ugarte lifeline as £44m deal suddenly back on

United have received a boost in their pursuit of Manuel Ugarte with a deal now considered to be on the cards, according to El Pais.

It was reported earlier this month that United had walked away from negotiations after refusing to meet Paris Saint-Germain’s asking price.

However, the French club are now said to have lowered their expectations, putting the Red Devils back in the driving seat.

United previously submitted a £44m bid for Ugarte, who is thought to be keen on moving to Old Trafford.

Napoli in talks over McTominay loan deal

Napoli have opened talks with United over a potential move for Scott McTominay, according to The Times.

The Italian giants would reportedly prefer a loan deal as their transfer budget does not stretch to United’s asking price of around £30m.

Fulham have already seen a handful of bids rejected for McTominay, who will be out of contract at the end of the season.
