Man Utd star 'issues complaint' about Ruben Amorim as dressing room verdict surfaces

At least one Manchester United player has privately complained about Ruben Amorim’s relentless rotation at the dawn of his reign, according to reports.

The Red Devils’ head coach has made a habit of shuffling his pack across his first five games in charge – partly for rest, partly for trial and error.

The Manchester Evening News report a member of Amorim’s dressing room has voiced his discontent at the unsettled nature of his team selections.

However, despite a few grumbles from a minority, most of the squad are in favour of the Portuguese tactician’s rotation policy.

It’s claimed that shared playing time has mainly received a positive response after a staggering 23 changes in the last four matches.

Since leaving Sporting to take charge, Amorim has started 20 different players and used all 25 of his available substitutions to manage a hectic fixture schedule and help his newly inherited roster adapt to his philosophy.

The 39-year-old’s tenure so far has seen two wins, a draw, and two losses, with defeats to Arsenal and Nottingham Forest causing United to slip to 13th in the Premier League.

A loss to Manchester City on Sunday would mark the first time the club has suffered three consecutive league defeats since December 2015.

Last week, Amorim explained that his rotation policy was partly due to managing players returning from injury.

“It’s not because I like to change all the time but we have to have all the squad fit,” he said.

“So, for example, Harry Maguire has a time limit, Tyrell Malacia has a time limit, Mason Mount has a time limit, Leny Yoro has a really time limit.

“So we have to manage winning games, different methodology, different way of playing, more metres to press and tomorrow we have to assess and the guys that are a little bit at risk to some injury will not play.

“So we have to have everybody to work, to play and to improve the squad.”

Ahead of the Forest defeat, Amorim revealed he is “more or less” honing in on his preferred starting XI.

Discounting the rested Noussair Mazraoui, Amorim chose what many believe to be United’s strongest lineup, which proved there was plenty of work left to do.
