Man Utd news LIVE: Erik ten Hag’s future will be decided today.
Manchester United will decide Erik ten Hag’s fate today as the club’s executive committee gathers in London for a long-standing summit. The Dutchman is at serious risk of the sack, having failed to improve United’s fortunes at the start of the season.
Links to Thomas Tuchel are brewing again after the German met Sir Jim Ratcliffe in Monaco during a hunt for a potential replacement in the summer.
United also spoke to Thomas Frank, Roberto De Zerbi, Mauricio Pochettino, Kieran McKenna, Marco Silva and Roberto Martinez following May’s FA Cup win.
And those talks could re-commence in the coming days if the club’s bosses call time on Ten Hag’s reign during today’s meeting.
Ratcliffe will be present, along with Sir Dave Brailsford, chief executive Omar Berrada, sporting director Dan Ashworth, technical director Jason Wilcox, chief financial officer Roger Bell and chief operating officer Collette Roche.
United co-chairman Joel Glazer has also flown in from the United States to participate.
He was at Old Trafford yesterday for talks about the stadium redevelopment with the task force and the Fans’ Advisory Board.

Ruud van Nistelrooy could become interim boss.
Monday at Old Trafford
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Joel Glazer and Sir Alex Ferguson were filmed arriving at Old Trafford yesterday for the first round of talks between club bosses.
The Old Trafford Regeneration Task Force were also present – including Gary Neville and Andy Burnham – to discuss the latest on the stadium.
Glazer also sat in the quarterly Fans’ Advisory Board meeting – his first interaction with fans since November 2022.

Who will have the final say?
Sir Jim Ratcliffe recently shrugged off the responsibility of making the final decision on Erik ten Hag’s future.
“I like Erik, I think he’s a very good coach but, at the end of the day, it’s not my call,” Ratcliffe told BBC Sport last week.
“It’s the management team that’s running Manchester United that have to decide how we best run the team in many different respects.”
However, the three-man committee involving Ratcliffe, Sir Dave Brailsford and Joel Glazer will have the final say.
That will come based on the recommendation of sporting executives Omar Berrada, Dan Ashworth and Jason Wilcox.

Erik ten Hag confident of stay
Erik ten Hag has taken a short holiday at the start of the October international break.
If that doesn’t suggest he’s confident that he’s safe for now, his comments after Sunday’s 0-0 draw at Aston Villa do.
“I speak continuously with them. We always talk. I would say every day we talk,” Ten Hag explained as he dismissed “external talk” about his future.
“Internal, we are disappointed, we know we have to do better, especially we need to score more.”
Man Utd don’t want to sack Erik ten Hag
Manchester United bosses have reportedly privately agreed that they would really prefer to avoid sacking Erik ten Hag.
According to ESPN, United don’t want to part ways with the Dutchman after backing him with £200m in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils also extended his contract by a year until 2026, significantly increasing his payout should he be dismissed.
But that may not stop the club from doing what they believe is best for business after today’s meeting in London.
Ten Hag is still under massive pressure, regardless of whether he’s in charge against Brentford on October 19.
