Manchester United’s interest in a right winger could accelerate if Alejandro Garnacho completes a shock switch to Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal this summer. But INEOS’ reported priority target, Michael Olise, is now off the table as he prepares to leave Crystal Palace for Bayern Munich in a £50million deal.

United’s new-look football hierarchy was claimed to have agreed on Olise as their priority right-wing target in the initial months after Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s investment.

However, the Red Devils put plans to strengthen their wing options on the back burner, with a new centre-back, midfielder and striker more pressing matters.

Bayern moved quickly for the 22-year-old Frenchman, alongside Chelsea and Newcastle United, and have won the race for his signature.

Fresh reports have since linked Garnacho with an incredible potential switch to Saudi Arabia. In the unlikely scenario where that move comes to fruition, United would be left low on options.

Express Sport looks at three possible options in the transfer market to replace Garnacho at Old Trafford next season.

Xavi Simons

According to Fabrizio Romano, Xavi Simons has informed Paris Saint-Germain of his desire to leave this summer.

He is expected to depart on another loan, having registered 10 goals and 15 assists in 43 appearances for RB Leipzig last season.

The 21-year-old can play on either side of the attack, and as a loanee, he would save a significant chunk of United’s budget.

He is expected to make a decision on his future at the end of Euro 2024, where he is representing the Netherlands.

Nico Williams

Nico Williams is another young winger flaunting his talents at Euro 2024, shining as one of Spain’s star performers in their perfect group stage.

Also 21, the Athletic Bilbao star scored eight goals and provided 19 assists in 37 games last term.

He is thought to have a release clause worth in the region of £55m, which would be beyond United’s budget, especially before player sales.

But Williams would represent an exciting addition of pace and trickery to replace Garnacho sufficiently.

Pedro Neto

Pedro Neto has been impressing just like Olise in the Premier League and is consistently linked with a big move away from Wolves.

The 24-year-old’s injury issues will be a concern, but his quality on the pitch is undisputed and he is also an established Portugal international.

That might make him a popular recruit among United’s talented Portuguese contingent featuring captain Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot.

The Red Devils may face competition from Arsenal, though, and Mikel Arteta can offer Champions League football next season.
