Marcus Rashford limed off against Real Betis
Manchester United’s latest injury crisis could be a blessing in disguise for Erik ten Hag.
Marcus Rashford limped off against Real Betis and Antony stormed down the tunnel after just 23 minutes on the field.
But it should force Ten Hag to finally put his best players on the pitch.
The Dutchman wasted Jadon Sancho’s talents by sending him out on loan last season and that massively backfired as he picked up a Champions League runners-up medal
He’s been doing the same in pre-season with £73 million man made to settle for a place on the bench against Arsenal and Real Betis on their US tour.
Ten Hag says he’s buried the hatchet with Sancho after their major falling out last year.
Now it’s time to prove it and give the exciting winger a good run in the team in Rashford’s absence. Rashford won’t get back into the team if Sancho is given a stretch of games in the starting XI.
And we shouldn’t even be discussing if Amad Diallo is a better option than Antony on the opposite side. Of course he is.
Jadon Sancho deserved to start on the left for Manchester United
Triathlon boycott
OLYMPIC triathlon stars should have refused to compete after they were forced to swim in water that makes the River Thames look like the Blue Lagoon.
Belgian competitor Jolien Vermeylen said: “I felt and saw things that we shouldn’t think about too much.”
Sewage is pumped into the Thames, it makes your stomach turn thinking what was splashing in their mouths from the Seine.
Lewis Hamilton calm may not last
LEWIS Hamilton did well to keep his cool after he was out-tacticed by George Russell in Belgium last weekend.
Russell’s engineers put him on a one-stop strategy – and Hamilton’s team were not consulted despite sharing a garage.
There could be fireworks later in the season if this continues.
