Andre Onana has struggled of late in goal for Man Utd.
Manchester United are reportedly on the hunt for a new goalkeeper, with Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen emerging as a potential target.
The current number one at Old Trafford, Andre Onana, is said to be increasingly unsettled following a series of disappointing performances, including a 2-0 defeat to Wolves on Boxing Day.
Despite being signed by former boss Erik ten Hag from Inter Milan, the 28-year-old Cameroon international has reportedly been unhappy in Manchester, a situation that seems to have worsened since the arrival of Ten Hag’s Portuguese successor Ruben Amorim.
With the United board fully aware of the £47.5million Onana issue, the search for a top keeper is already underway.
According to the Daily Star, Dutch international Verbruggen, 22, has emerged as the favourite to succeed Onana.
However, with over three years left on his contract at Brighton, the Seagulls’ stopper could cost around £30m and any deal is unlikely to materialise before next summer, leaving United and Onana stuck together for now.

Bart Verbruggen has been identified as a top target by the Red Devils
This means new boss Amorim will likely have to rely on the ex-Ajax star for the rest of what has been a turbulent season. Second-choice keeper Altay Bayindir also had a poor performance in the Carabao Cup exit at Tottenham before Christmas and is expected to be sold in the summer.
Onana’s disappointing 18-month stint in England was further underscored by his inability to prevent Matheus Cunha from scoring Wolves’ opening goal directly from a corner last week.
