Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS have angered the Manchester United dressing room with their treatment of long-serving staff members during recent job cuts, according to reports. United’s new hierarchy is believed to have overseen at least 250 redundancies since February in a ruthless bid to streamline the club’s operations.

Ratcliffe has wasted no time with his efforts to re-shape the Red Devils after securing a £1.3billion deal for a 27.7 per cent stake eight months ago.

However, while some sections of the fanbase have agreed with INEOS’ brutal approach to enacting change, others have been left struck by the scale of employees impacted.

According to ESPN, the new Old Trafford powerbrokers have also angered Erik ten Hag’s players for the manner of their sweeping changes.

It’s claimed that INEOS’ impact has underwhelmed many stars since they started their project to return United to the summit of world football.

But Ratcliffe has also reportedly caused the dressing room to fume with the brutal nature of the mass job cuts he’s overseen this year.

An ESPN source claimed: “One member of the ground staff had been at the club for over 30 years.

“He was let go by the club and was sweeping up on his own on his last day with tears rolling down his face. Nobody did anything for him, despite all the years he had given to the club.”

Ratcliffe is said to be taking inspiration from Real Madrid’s staff model, which has also reportedly made employees question why the alleged biggest club in the world is trying to copy others.

His close confidant, Sir Dave Brailsford, is claimed to have not made a good impression in the dressing room, either.

ESPN add that during his first meeting with the first team, Brailsford told the players that he had moved away from his lavish Monte Carlo home to help United improve in Manchester.

“The players left the room rolling their eyes and shaking their heads,” another source told the outlet.

“It was like they were supposed to be grateful that Dave had given up his idyllic lifestyle to save them all. All they’ve seen since is cost-cutting and people losing their jobs.”

The alleged discontent may have contributed to United’s dismal start to the season, which has left Ten Hag under severe sack pressure.

The Red Devils have never accumulated fewer points in their first seven games in a Premier League season than their eight this term.

Just three wins in their opening 11 matches in all competitions haven’t helped INEOS silence their early doubters.
