Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is confident David De Gea will sign a new deal.
The Spanish shot stopper is out of contract in the summer, with the club not using an option to renew the deal by one year.
Instead, The Mirror states that United want De Gea to agree to a nearly 50 percent reduction on his salary.
Manager Ten Hag told reporters this week: “I think we want him to stay and he wants to stay, so I think we will find each other.”
Asked why the deal was not yet concluded, Ten Hag said: “I never give a comment about how negotiations are going.”
United’s manager has made it clear that his priority this summer is to strengthen, not weaken, his squad.
