The match was won 2-1 by City thanks to an Ilkay Gundogan double either side of a Bruno Fernandes penalty.
Tensions were high with it being the first-ever Manchester derby in an FA Cup final, while United had the chance to end City’s hopes of matching their 1999 European treble.
They were unable to do that, though, and Pep Guardiola’s side are now huge favourites to become only the second English side to achieve the feat when they face Inter Milan in the Champions League final.
The defeat means United end the season with just the Carabao Cup to their name, but that’s not an achievement to be sniffed at considering they had gone five years without a trophy.

In his first season as manager, Erik ten Hag also brought the team back to the Champions League, finishing third in the Premier League.
But their final match of the season still left a bitter taste in the mouth, and fans from either side took things too far after the final whistle.
