Liverpool will be hoping to maintain their impressive start in the Premier League with victory over Wolves later today. The Reds will travel to Molineux as the overwhelming favourites to claim all three points and keep the pressure on leaders Manchester City.

Arne Slot’s side have scored 11 goals in their last three outings in all competitions and will fancy their chances of adding to their tally against Wolves. However, they will be wary of an upset after Nottingham Forest beat them at Anfield earlier this month.

Wolves, meanwhile, are yet to register their first win of the season having drawn one and lost four of their opening five matches.

Liverpool predicted XI vs Wolves (4-2-3-1)

Goalkeeper – Alisson

Alisson Becker looks set to return in goal after missing Liverpool’s last two games with a hamstring injury. Slot confirmed on Friday that he returned to training earlier this week and will be in contention to start ahead of Caoimhin Kelleher.

“We think he is [ready],” said the Liverpool boss. “He trained yesterday as part of our session with the group and we’re expecting him to do the whole session today. So we think he is available, but of course we have to train today.”

Defence – Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson

There will be no surprises in defence for Liverpool, who are likely to field their strongest back four against Wolves. Ibrahima Konate has been preferred to Jarell Quansah in the middle and looks set to keep his place alongside Virgil van Dijk.

Trent Alexander-Arnold is almost certain to start at right-back with Andrew Robertson on the opposite flank.

Midfield – Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Szoboszlai

Ryan Gravenberch has been one of Liverpool’s standout players in midfield and looks set to feature at Molineux today. He will be partnered by Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, who will be given the freedom to play further forward.

Liverpool will have the likes of Harvey Elliott and Wataru Endo on the bench to provide some extra energy in the second half.

Attack – Salah, Diaz, Jota

It would be a surprise to see Liverpool deviate from their established front three of Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota. Federico Chiesa made his first start for the Reds against West Ham in midweek but is likely to settle for a place on the bench.

Others, such as Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo, will also be hoping to come on and make an impact against tired legs.

Predicted Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz, Jota.
