Arne Slot is keen to bolster his forward ranks this summer
Liverpool are reportedly hoping to bring in four new signings in the final month of the transfer window.
The Reds are yet to dip their toes into the market this summer, with Arne Slot indicating that he was keen to get to grips with his current squad before identifying where the team could improve with incomings.
The Dutchman now appears to have made up his mind on the areas of weakness within the squad just two weeks before the 2024/25 campaign begins, with the ex-Feyenoord boss plotting some quick-fire signings.
According to The Independent, Liverpool are keen to bolster their ranks by acquiring the services of a new signing in every outfield department.
The Reds remain keen to bring in a central defender to provide an alternative option across the backline. Joel Matip left the club as a free agent earlier this summer and therefore a replacement is required, despite the 32-year-old’s fitness woes over the past few campaigns.
Willian Pancho of Eintracht Frankfurt is one player admired. The Ecuadorian, 22, could however cost as much as £50million.
Jurgen Klopp orchestrated a significant restructuring of the Liverpool midfield just 12 months ago, but the club still feel that there is a piece of the puzzle missing in those central areas.
Thus, the Anfield outfit are targeting a new No.6 to occupy the deeper areas in Slot’s system.

Liverpool are plotting a move for Anthony Gordon
A shake-up is also being plotted in the final third, with Liverpool said to be looking to potentially bring in a further two wide forwards to allow for rotation and improve upon the current options at the club.
Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon is thought to be the top attacking target on Merseyside, with reports speculating previously that an agreement was in place earlier in the window for him to join the Reds in a deal which would have seen Joe Gomez head to St James’ Park.
But Liverpool could also pursue another winger too, despite having Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota, Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz and Fabio Carvalho as options in the final third.

Eddie Howe’s side have resolved any potential PSR issues which were brewing earlier this summer and therefore acquiring the services of England international Gordon is markedly trickier. But that has not deterred Liverpool.
The Reds may need to go ‘very high’ to secure the signature of the 23-year-old, with an offer of £80m plus add-ons expected to be required to truly test the resolve of Newcastle.
The Magpies are insistent that they do not want to part ways with the tricky winger this summer.
