Jurgen Klopp says he is glad to see the back of 2022-23, and he isn’t the only one. For Liverpool, it was a campaign full of disappointment and frustration, one which ended with them failing to achieve even the ‘bare minimum’ of Champions League qualification.
A fifth-placed finish represents success to some clubs, but not this one. There will be big changes at Anfield this summer, and rightly so, as Klopp’s squad gets the overhaul it probably needed 12 months ago. We know some of the players who will leave, and others will rightly be looking over their shoulder, but who has done enough to be part of the new-look Reds next season?
