Liverpool are reportedly eyeing a new centre-back and forward, as per the latest transfer reports. However, any potential signings will have to wait until the January transfer window officially opens in a few months.

Despite this, Liverpool are still being linked with several potential new squad members ahead of the New Year. The Reds bolstered their team over the summer with Federico Chiesa from Juventus, while Giorgi Mamardashvili is set to make his official move to Anfield in 2025 after a season on loan at Valencia.

It’s yet to be seen what Liverpool’s plans for the January transfer window will be. If the current rumours hold any weight, it could be a bustling start to 2025 for Arne Slot and his team as they prepare for the second half of the Premier League season.

Liverpool are said to be interested in signing Borussia Dortmund defender Nico Schlotterbeck, according to Caught Offside. The Reds have reportedly marked the centre-back as a target for the 2025 summer transfer window.

Over the summer, there were numerous reports linking Liverpool with a new central defender. However, the Reds chose not to reinforce their centre-back department, but this could change next year.

Liverpool are reportedly ready to table a €50 million (£41.7 million) bid for Germany international Schlotterbeck, but they could face stiff competition from Newcastle United.

In other news, Liverpool’s pursuit of Borussia Dortmund forward Karim Adeyemi may not be straightforward, with reports from Italy suggesting that Inter Milan have entered the fray.

Inter Live reports that the Serie A giants are willing to go head-to-head with Liverpool and Atletico Madrid for Adeyemi’s services. Dortmund are said to be demanding a fee of €50 million (£41.7 million) for the German starlet to leave Signal Iduna Park.
