Liverpool have reportedly drawn up a three-man shortlist as they search for a long-term replacement for left-back Andy Robertson. The 30-year-old joined the Reds from Hull for an initial fee of just £8million in 2017 but has struggled to hit his usual high standards this season after playing through injury towards the end of the last campaign.

Robertson was an unused substitute for Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Brighton on Saturday as Kostas Tsimikas was preferred in his place.

The Scotland international was also named on the bench for the Reds’ trip to Crystal Palace last month and had started only one of his side’s first three Champions League matches ahead of Tuesday’s home encounter with Bayer Leverkusen.

According to The Sun, Liverpool are eyeing up RB Leipzig star David Raum as well as Ipswich ace Leif Davis. And they are also interested in pursuing Fulham defender Antonee Robinson, who is attracting interest from Manchester United.

Robinson impressed Red Devils chiefs during Fulham’s 1-0 defeat to United on the opening night of the campaign in August.

Fulham are reluctant to lose the talented 27-year-old but won’t stand in his way if a suitable offer in the region of £30million comes their way. A January transfer has been mooted, with a move to a big club in the north west said to appeal to the player. And Liverpool will be hoping he chooses Anfield over Old Trafford if both clubs submit a formal offer.

Liverpool scouts have watched Robinson and Raum several times this season, while the club have tracked Davis’ progress at Portman Road.

And Reds chiefs will be working hard behind the scenes to ensure they select the player that has the potential to kick on at Anfield.

Robertson has bagged 11 goals and 65 assists in 310 matches for Liverpool and played a starring role as his side lifted the Champions League and Club World Cup trophies in 2019 before clinching the Premier League title in 2020.

But the blockbuster star missed Arne Slot’s first pre-season campaign as Liverpool boss to recover from a serious ankle injury.

And the Dutchman explained at the weekend: “I think his current situation is what you can expect if a player misses out on pre-season and a new manager comes in – you miss quite a lot.

“You have to go into a programme where you’ve missed the base tactically when it comes to us [a new management team], and physically as well.”
