Kylian Mbappe (pictured in orange) was spotted gifting a ballboy his shirt while on the bench
Kylian Mbappe showed his move to Real Madrid hasn’t gone to his head during victory over Real Sociedad. Mbappe demonstrated exactly what kind of person he is by gifting his matchworn shirt to a ballboy after being substituted.
The Frenchman, who made the transfer of the summer by moving to the Spanish capital after allowing his contract at PSG to expire, signed a deal until 2029, linking up with the likes of Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr. Despite being one of the world’s top footballers and now playing for the Champions League holders, Mbappe showed a generous side after being replaced during his most recent match.
Prior to Real’s victory over Sociedad on Saturday, where the forward scored a crucial second goal, Mbappe was seen chatting with a ball boy before the game started. It is believed the youngster requested his shirt. When he was substituted late in the game, he didn’t react negatively as many of his peers often do.
Instead, he took the time to interact with the young fan, who approached him on the bench to ask for his shirt. Mbappe happily complied, leaving the ballboy ecstatic as he ran off with a wide grin, tightly holding the coveted jersey.
Thanks to Mbappe’s goal, Madrid secured a 2-0 win, maintaining their unbeaten start to the season. They are currently third, four points behind Barcelona, who have maintained a perfect record with five victories from five matches, reports the Mirror.
However, the start of Mbappe’s tenure in Madrid has been somewhat turbulent. The French sensation faced criticism following a 1-1 draw with RCD Mallorca at the season’s outset, which came on the heels of his goal against Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup.

He then experienced a dry spell against Real Valladolid and Las Palmas before bouncing back with a rapid brace against Real Betis, seemingly regaining the form that has made him one of football’s most formidable forwards. His goal against Sociedad marked his third in two games, and he’ll be aiming to maintain this prolific streak as the new Champions League season kicks off.
Regardless of what transpires, it’s clear that Mbappe is keeping his feet firmly on the ground amidst his newfound successes starring as a Galactico.
