Kylian Mbappe was reportedly involved in a fiery row with Paris Saint-Germain chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi over a leaving video he posted on social media. The French forward said goodbye to fans in an emotional message, but has reportedly angered his club by not mentioning Al-Khelaifi or the Emir of Qatar.

Mbappe ended speculation over his future by announcing that he will leave PSG at the end of the season. The 25-year-old is widely expected to join Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.

The France captain has reportedly barely spoken to Al-Khelaifi since he made the club aware of his decision to quit. However, the club chairman wanted an explanation over Mbappe’s apparent refusal to mention neither him nor the Emir of Qatar in his leaving video.

According to French publication Le Parisien, an argument so explosive that witnesses reportedly felt the ‘walls shaking’ ensued. PSG have denied that the meeting was heated and claim that the duo simply discussed the formalisation of Mbappe’s exit.

However, the report adds that the meeting, which took place before the club’s 3-1 defeat by Toulouse on Sunday, was long enough to prolong the beginning of the team’s warm-up routine. It is claimed that PSG took to the field to start their preparations four minutes later than usual.

“Hi everyone, it’s Kylian. I wanted to speak to you. I’ve always said that I would speak with you, and so I wanted to announce to you all that it’s my last year at Paris Saint-Germain,” Mbappe said in a video that was posted on X last week.

“I will not extend [my contract], and the adventure will come to an end in a few weeks. I will play my last game at the Parc des Princes on Sunday.”

“[I also want to thank] the sporting directors – Leonardo and Luis Campos – for always accompanying me.
