Jurgen Klopp has been linked with a surprise move after leaving Liverpool
The agent of former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has shut down rumours suggesting that he is about to become Red Bull’s head of global football. Klopp waved a tearful goodbye to Liverpool at the end of last season and is yet to announce his next career move.
It has been reported that Red Bull want Klopp to head up their football department in what would be a surprise move. According to Salzburger Nachrichten, the 56-year-old is being lined up to become Red Bull’s head of global football, a position which has been vacant for several years following Oliver Mintzlaff’s resignation.
Red Bull are said to be keen on recruiting Klopp with the aim of making their clubs more attractive destinations for potential transfer targets. However, his agent Marc Kosicke has made it clear that his client is not interested, telling Sky Germany: “Total nonsense. There’s nothing to it.”

Klopp appears to be enjoying his free time after bringing an end to his nine-year spell in charge of Liverpool. He said earlier this year that he would take a sabbatical before thinking about joining another club, refusing to rule out the possibility of returning to management at some point.
“If you ask me, ‘Will you ever work as a manager again?’, I would say now no, but I don’t know obviously how that will feel because I never had the situation,” he told Liverpool’s official channels.
“What I know definitely, I will never, ever manage a different club in England than Liverpool, 100 per cent. That’s not possible. My love for this club, my respect for the people is too big. I couldn’t. I couldn’t for a second think about it. There’s no chance.

“I will find something else maybe to do. But I will not manage a club or a country at least for a year, that’s not possible, I cannot do that and I don’t want to. That’s all.”
Klopp has devoted much of his free time to playing padel, a racket sport which bears similarities to tennis or squash and is popular in Europe. He also recently set up an Instagram account, which has gained almost four million followers in the space of a month.
He was spotted attending this month’s Champions League final to watch Borussia Dortmund, one of his former clubs, against Real Madrid. However, his presence was unable to inspire the German side to victory with their Spanish opponents sealing a comfortable win under the Wembley arch.
