Jurgen Klopp posted the image of his meeting with Becker and co on Instagram.
It might be an unusual summer for Jurgen Klopp but the former Liverpool boss is making the most of it. For the first time since 2015, the 57-year-old can enjoy the off-season, as opposed to mulling over transfer deals and plans for the following campaign.
And now back in his native Germany, Klopp is taking the chance to catch up with old friends, including tennis icon Boris Becker.
On Sunday evening, he took to Instagram to underline the fun he’s been having during Euro 2024, posting a picture of him and three others, including Becker, all smiles in what appears a restaurant.
Also in the snap was former Huddersfield and Norwich boss David Wagner. The two managers are close friends having played together at Mainz, with Wagner serving as the best man when Klopp got married in 2005.
And completing the quartet was Klopp’s long-term agent, Marc Kosicke. Only two days ago, he dismissed speculation that his client was set to become the new manager of Red Bull Leipzig, describing rumours as “total nonsense.”
Klopp added the caption “Three legends and I! Was great to catch up with old friends.” He included a smiling emoji to complete the post, as he continues to appear relaxed after leaving Anfield at the start of June.
Klopp bid farewell to Anfield at the end of the Premier League season.
On Friday night, Klopp was out on the streets of Munich ahead of Germany’s tournament opener with Scotland. On an Instagram video, he posted footage of hoards of home fans enjoying themselves in outside bars.
Suggesting he was heading to the Allianz Arena stadium for the game itself, he wrote: “Excited for tonight! Good luck @dfb_team!”
And he would have gone home happy after Germany got their campaign off to an emphatic start. Goals from Florian Wirtz, Jamal Musiala, Kai Havertz, Niclas Fullkrug and Emre Can sealed a 5-1 win, with Klopp’s former Liverpool left-back Andy Robertson one Scottish player left humbled.

Klopp had initially been linked with the national job when he first announced he was leaving Liverpool back in January. Julian Nagelsmann’s contract initially ended after this summer’s tournament, putting the 2018/19 Champions League winner firmly in the frame.
But Nahgelsmann has since signed a new deal through to the end of the 2026 World Cup. Klopp himself has implied he won’t take another job for a minimum period of 12 months, and has vowed to spend his time working on two family housing projects.
