Speaking to the Daily Mail, the Premier League manager was full of praise for the 18-year-old midfielder, who made a second-half cameo for Liverpool in their 4-0 win against the Foxes.
Playing in the no. 6 role in midfield, McConnell looked composed and confident in the position as Klopp continues to decide who should replace Fabinho in the area next season, with Curtis Jones starting the match in midfield.
With Romeo Lavia linked with a move to Liverpool, there’s a good chance that the Belgian could take the role if the Reds can secure the midfielder’s signature. Yet McConnell could now be a candidate after today’s performance.
The teenager is one of Liverpool’s most exciting prospects, and McConnell seemingly caught Klopp’s eye today in Asia as the midfield looked like a natural in midfield for the Merseyside giants.
