Jude Bellingham has been declared fit again by Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti
Jude Bellingham has been told to stop overdoing it in matches. The youngster admitted his ‘body needed a rest’ after suffering a leg injury which has kept him out of four Real Madrid games and two England fixtures since late August.
Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Bellingham is ready to make his comeback at home to Stuttgart in the Champions League tonight (Tuesday).
But the reigning Spanish champions will be intent on managing his workload to avoid further spells on the sidelines. According to bet365 ambassador Clarence Seedorf, who won a European crown as a Real Madrid player, Bellingham would be wise to keep his lung-busting runs in check from now on.
“As a general advice, this is what it takes to stay at the top: A lot of hours of working, making sure you stay fit, taking rest – even during matches,” explained the Dutchman.
“Knowing how to calibrate your energy. He is young so he can learn that better. Sometimes he is overdoing it in matches, making runs that are not necessary, even defensively. But that comes with experience. He will get better at that.
Clarence Seedorf has weighed in on Jude Bellingham’s recent injury issues
“I just hope he doesn’t get injured too often because I would hate that. I really want to see him create an amazing career, but staying healthy and fit is the most important focus you have to have. Hopefully he and the coaches will be able to manage his energy so he can avoid injuries.”
Bellingham was immense in his debut Real season, hitting 23 goals in all competitions and storming to a Champions League triumph. He also helped England to the final of Euro 2024, taking his total number of appearances across the campaign to a dizzying 54.
Just over a year into his spell in Spain, and with his injury now healed, the midfield dynamo has the world at his feet. And Seedorf feels he is talented enough to make a lasting name for himself.
“He has the potential to leave an important legacy,” he added. “Not just at Real Madrid, he represents England too. He has shown that, even when he is very tired like he was at the Euros, he can still make a difference and determine matches with his personality, his energy, his determination. He has the full package to become a name that will be remembered in football.”
