Jude Bellingham shared a moment with Spain defender Dani Carvajal
England star Jude Bellingham shared a classy moment with Dani Carvajal after the Euro 2024 final. The midfielder suffered heartbreak in Berlin as England were defeated by Spain on Sunday.
The Three Lions’ search for glory continues after Mikel Oyarzabal’s late strike cancelled out Cole Palmer’s stunning equaliser. Gareth Southgate’s side became the first to lose in consecutive Euros finals and the frustration briefly got the better of Bellingham.
The Real Madrid midfielder was seen kicking a drinks cooler after the final whistle as other England players fought to hold back tears. However, Bellingham displayed a gentler side when catching up with his club teammate Carvajal after Spain had collected their winners’ medals.
Bellingham was filmed standing in one of the dugouts next to Carvajal, who was looking after his two children. The England man congratulated the right-back and briefly talked to Caravajal’s two young sons before letting Carvajal continue to enjoy the moment with his family.
The Spain full-back had been less gracious on the pitch, though. Midway through the first half, the 32-year-old tripped up Bukayo Saka as the winger looked to charge upfield. Saka and England captain Harry Kane were among those to protest for him to be shown a yellow card but Carvajal shrugged it off, rubbing his eyes and gesturing that the Three Lions were ‘crying’ about the referee’s decision not to caution him.
Off the pitch, Bellingham let that small dig at England slide and also congratulated other Spanish stars, including former Real Madrid duo Nacho and Joselu. Despite only being 21, this was Bellingham’s third tournament as an England player and backs Southgate to continue as manager beyond the Euros, but only if he wishes to do so.

Dani Caravajal suggested England players were crying after he committed a foul
“For me, it’s down to the manager and what the FA decide,” Bellingham said when asked about the England boss’ future. “I’ve got nothing but respect for Gareth giving me my debut in the squad, made me feel very at home.
“He is someone who, I think, in the last year or two as well, our relationship’s kind of gone a little bit past football, where I feel like I can open up to him a lot and I think that speaks volumes of the kind of man he is as well.”
“Whatever happens with Gareth, I’ll always respect him,” he added. “If he stays, then I’ll be even more determined to win something for him because he deserves it. Sometimes the numbers and the kind of statistics, the records don’t lie, he’s been our most successful manager since 1966. So whatever he decides, he will always have my respect and my love.”
